The Wine
Only produced in years of excellence, this Vintage Port from Quinta do Côtto is produced with selected grapes from vineyards over 25 years of age. The predominant varieties are Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz.
This classic Vintage Port is not very sweet but very refined. With low alcohol content and intense and complex aromas of wild berries and spices, it clearly denounces the terroir of the estate that confer to this Port a complex structure with well marked but smooth tannins.
CHAMPALIMAUD PORTO VINTAGE
Tasting and Gastronomic Notes
| Colour |
Intense violet |
| Nose |
Very intense red fruits, hints of strawberry, wild mulberries and chocolate. Very deep and already showing some complexity. |
| Taste |
Very good balance and structure. Complex throughout the tasting, good integration between the alcohol spirit and the residual sugar of the wine. This is a wine which has its own personality and stands out from ordinary vintage wines, given that it is more appealing, as well as organoleptically closer to a dry wine. |
| Gastronomy |
Matches very well with strong cheeses, like Roquefort or Stilton stile, as well as deserts of dark chocolate. |
